Marvin "VIP" Davis is a International-Award winning, Trend setting recording artist and multi-faceted entertainer. Born in Saint Thomas, USVI May 22nd, 1986, VIP is the son of Carol and Marvin Davis, a local worker who worked for government printing office. His father is African Caribbean, a native of Saint Thomas, USVI and his mother is from Saint Kitts. VIP interest in performing began at an early age. From summers spent with his dad at his grandmother house, he gained an appreciation and understanding for music that would later influence the sound he would create in years to come. Since first being recognized for his solo roles on the highly-successful school choir, and going on the road with rapper Get Money Williams after hearing VIP music and productions in the summer of 2006, VIP has asserted himself as a entertainer in the talent show and open mic world. VIP released his "All White Nutten 2 Fear". VIP now holds many records for song writing and productions. As The Baltimore Times Eunice Moseley writes, “So it’s gone with VIP, hip-hop’s current center of gravity, his success a reminder of so many of the victories hip-hop has won in the last couple of decades: the right to be decadent, sure, but also the right to reimagine any style of music, the right to be emotionally complicated, the right to be unusual. He confounds expectations. He raps about soft things, sings about hard things. Thanks to his versatility, he is the glue that binds together all of urban radio.” VIP has catapulted into success not only as an artist, but as a conscious maven with songs like "FIGHTING" and "SUMBADY DAIL 911" . Sharing the stories of global and local injustice in his music, VIP has built out DUST DEM AFF from a small phrase on tracks to an all-encompassing lifestyle brand, including his clothing company, his record label DUST DEM AFF MUSIC. VIP has reached great heights in recent years and he continues to create and aspire to dominate the global market. As VIP says, “It’s about the movement. If the people isn’t talking about it five, six, seven days later, or if the crowds don’t remember it for years to come, then I haven’t done my job…I’m going to find out what comes after this, but there’s definitely more to do for VIP.”
